Bees.
Education.
Sustainability.
We are two sisters keeping bees and creating an all-natural skin care line of products using sustainably sourced ingredients, many of them coming from Two Chicks Apiary hives located in Green Bay and Antigo Wisconsin. We are passionate about honeybees and educating anyone interested in these incredible tiny creatures and the value they bring to this beautiful world.
Our inspiration comes from our mom and dad. Bonnie (mom) has instilled a positive, stick-to-it, attitude in us and Dave (dad), a friend to all bees and pollinators, who spent many years designing and installing gardens locally as a master gardener. Together they gave us the spark to “just do it” (and of course the “i can do anything gene). With their constant love, encouragement and support we began building our product line and educating.
Our Journey…
-
Sarah’s husband, Matt was the first to get set up with bees and took her along for the ride. After a year of trial and error, she dove in 110%, learning as much as she could absorb to prepare for the next bee season.
-
Late 2018-2019 Sarah invited Jenny into her hives to see these amazing creatures up close. That was all it took - she was hooked! We love the bees, being in our hives, and talking and teaching everything bee related. The real journey began, together.
-
We joined the Wisconsin Honey Bee Association and Brown County Beekeepers Association as members and eventually became award-winning leaders.
-
We learned about the healing properties in beeswax, pollen, propolis, and honey and wanted to find a way to share them with others. In late 2022, Jenny began experimenting with different skincare recipes and started handcrafting products using resources from our own hives. The Two Chicks Apiary adventure officially began!
-
We developed simple branding and soft-launched products to friends, family, and farmers’ markets. As our product catalog grew, we rebranded to our current “Peace Bee” and “Peace Honeycomb” logos, representing the peacefulness of bees and what they do for our planet, our friendly desire to educate and connect, and our self-love line of products.
Save the Bees!
Although there are many people keeping bees, the number of honey bees has decreased. There are multiple reasons for this, including loss of habitat, increased use of pesticides, and disease in hives. Managing hives today is much different than it was even 20 years ago. Bees and those who manage hives face many more challenges.
Two Chicks Apiary seeks opportunities to educate the public on their role in assisting the honeybee. Through speaking engagements, classroom demonstrations, observation hive demonstrations, and hive tours, we educate individuals and groups on actions they can take to make a difference. Along with educating people, we also harvest a portion of honey and wax from the hives and sell to others. We use locally sourced resources and sustainable packaging to create a product people can feel good about using. We use minimal ingredients in our products for a pure result.
The 'Peace Bee’ is a mark to represent Two Chicks Apiary and the respect we have for our bees! Employees of the year.
The ‘Peace Honeycomb’ is a simplified version of our bee logo focused on self-care and inner peace.
